Who LoudSky is for
LoudSky is for anyone who wants to understand aircraft activity above a place, not just watch live aircraft move across a map.
It is useful when aircraft noise matters, or when you want to know whether an area sits under regular overhead routes.
For YouTubers, filmmakers, podcasters and outdoor creators, LoudSky can help spot quieter recording times, compare locations, and understand why a place keeps getting interrupted by aircraft noise.
For house buyers, renters and property viewers, LoudSky can help check an area before or after a viewing. A place can feel quiet during a short visit, but still sit under a regular flight path at other times of the day. LoudSky helps show repeated overhead routes, busy aircraft corridors and likely aircraft noise patterns around that area.
Estate agents and property professionals may also find it useful when answering practical questions about local aircraft activity. It gives a simple way to look at nearby flight paths and explain that aircraft noise can vary by time, weather, runway use and route patterns.
- Home workers checking daytime aircraft activity.
- People comparing quiet places to live, work or record.
- Residents who want plain-English aircraft noise context.
- Garden office, studio or cabin owners checking regular overflights.
- Community groups looking at local aircraft patterns.
- Aviation enthusiasts who want more than live dots on a map.
- Anyone trying to understand why one place feels louder than another.
LoudSky shows repeated overhead flight paths, busy aircraft corridors, aircraft noise context and simple flight path scores based on available aircraft data.
LoudSky is not an official aviation, airport, planning, navigation or noise-monitoring service. Results can be delayed, incomplete or approximate, but they can still give useful context when comparing places or understanding aircraft activity above an area.
Flight path score
Search a location to see how much recent aircraft activity LoudSky has found near it. This is not official aircraft noise data.

Next quiet period
Noisy spell
The app looks at predicted noise windows and groups aircraft together when they arrive close together.
A shorter gap treats aircraft as separate spells. A longer gap groups more aircraft into one spell.
Noisy spell only uses aircraft predicted to enter the close/loud zone. Distant audible aircraft are ignored here.

Your privacy is important to us
LoudSky does not ask for your name, email address, or any personal profile.
Your chosen location is only used to check aircraft near that spot. The app may save your chosen location and settings in your own browser so it works when you come back, but it does not sell or share your location for advertising.
If you use GPS, your browser gives the app a location so it can check nearby aircraft. That location is sent to this website’s own API while the app updates, but it is not saved as a personal location history.
The server may keep normal technical logs, like most websites do, but LoudSky is not designed to identify you or track you personally.
- Your latitude/longitude is used to request aircraft near your chosen position.
- Your location is sent to this website's API while the page updates.
- The aircraft data provider may receive the requested map area so it can return nearby aircraft.
- Location search and flight path score checks send the typed search term to this website first, then to a location-search provider so it can return matching locations.
- On first visit, this website may request a rough IP-based location from a geolocation service so the map has a useful starting point. This rough location is saved only in your browser settings, not as GPS server data.
- Your location is not used for advertising or analytics.
- Your chosen location.
- Noise settings, global sensitivity and distance boundaries.
- Map zoom/position and collapsed panel state.
- A browser ID may be stored so settings remain consistent on this device.
- Aircraft route, metadata, airport context and photo cache.
- Temporary API/cache data needed to return nearby aircraft and aircraft details.
- Observed path aggregates by rough map cell. These are aircraft movement patterns, not exact user GPS points.
- Your GPS latitude/longitude.
- Your exact current location.
- Advertising, analytics or marketing tracking data.
- This tool uses browser storage so the aircraft map, saved location and settings work properly.
- No analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or marketing cookies are used by this tool.
- Live aircraft data comes from the selected ADS-B data provider.
- Aircraft photos may be looked up from aircraft photo/metadata sources.
- Nearby airport and runway context may be looked up from cached OurAirports public-domain data.
- Location search may use Postcodes.io for UK postcodes and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim for towns, villages, landmarks and place names.
- OpenStreetMap/MapLibre map tiles are loaded to display the main aircraft map.
Plain-English disclaimer
LoudSky is a public walking, location-sharing and aircraft-awareness app. It is meant to help people understand nearby aircraft activity and share location sessions in a practical way.
LoudSky is not a safety-critical aviation, navigation, emergency, medical, legal or security service.
Do not rely on LoudSky to decide whether it is safe to fly, drive, walk, camp, work, record audio, meet someone, enter an area, avoid an aircraft, avoid bad weather, or deal with an emergency.
Live aircraft data, aircraft positions, headings, heights, routes, aircraft details, photos, airports, repeated paths, corridor snapshots and flight path scores may be delayed, incomplete, approximate or wrong.
GPS, browser location, IP-based location, searched places, saved locations, weather information and map positions can also be inaccurate or out of date.
Temporary trusted-person links, shared session links and Creator/public sharing can reveal location or session information to other people. Anyone who has a working link may be able to view the information available through that link.
Creator/public sharing is delayed and approximate, but it is still public. Approximate sharing reduces precision, but it does not guarantee anonymity or safety.
Use official sources where accuracy matters. Follow local laws, respect private land, public access rules, airport restrictions, road rules and other people’s privacy.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, LoudSky is provided as-is and without guarantees that it will always be accurate, available, secure or suitable for your needs. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.
